It deals mainly with the analysis of data from the years 2004 to 2008, which is the period of the entrance of Slovakia and the Czech Republic into the European Union. The theoretical section describes events in particular, the economic and financial situation of households in those two countries during the observed years. The practical process uses different types of statistical methods and analysis to identify the financial situation in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, as well as identify the differences between them. The conclusion summarizes the findings and observations of the research findings, which are implemented in the practical section.

Babáková, Andrea ; Bína, Vladislav (advisor) ; Bartošová, Jitka (referee)
Presented thesis is focused on searching for differences and investigating dependences between costs and revenues of households, mainly the housing expenditure are emphasized. The data were extracted from survey made by Czech Statistics Office, especially from sample survey about revenues and living conditions of households called "Životní podmínky 2005". The data are analyzed by means of linear regression and analysis of variance. The above mentioned statistical methods are used to investigate the level of dependence between incomes and housing costs with regard to various factors e.g. size and type of municipality or the type of house in which the particular household is living. The obtained results display slightly growing dependence between incomes and revenues. Furthermore a small survey of the particular households was made on which the selected linear regression model (obtained by the analysis of ČSÚ data) was applied. The comparison of both surveys showed rather insignificant differences.

Dvorožňáková, Zuzana ; Bína, Vladislav (advisor) ; Bartošová, Jitka (referee)
The aim of the bachelor paper is to explore in more detail the interdependence between the occupation of the head of household as the main gainful activity, and the housing standard in Slovak families in the years 2005 and 2006. In the practical part we compare the housing costs, total household income and the gross monthly salary of the person bearing the housing expenses, with the particular selected variables. The closing part of the paper contains a verbal summary of the observed patterns of interdependence which have been identified by selected statistical methods and graphs.
